Hey ho! So i just got back from seeing Sherlock Holmes
(like literally still in my hat/coat/scarf) and it was ammaaazing! The whole thing was so well done. From the performances to the cinematography, the costumes and sets were perfect (I couldn't stop looking at how pretty RMcAdams' dresses were!) just everything was very well done. I can see now why so many people loved it enough to see it more than once and I'm really
glad it's lived up to my expectations. I'm not really all that well read about Holmes but when I first read about them working on it I couldn't help but get excited. In addition, I again couldn't help but notice the beauty of Rachel McAdams' skin. Is that a weird thing to notice? It's just in every film I see her in (the last before this being The Family Stone
which I rather liked, despite the fact I thought I wouldn't) I can't help but wish I had her skin. It's so creamy and smooth and touchable looking. I will work out how to get my skin to look at that. It's the same as Anne Hathaway ... just very touchable looking skin. Aside from all this skin talk though, I did very much enjoy the film and would happily see it again.
I would also just like to add a little note to say thank you to everyone who has replied to my little getting to know you thing. I didn't expect people to be so eager but it means a lot to me that people actually want me to know them ... odd thing to say I know but still. I will reply to each of them separately tomorrow.
As for now however, I am off to my bed where I shall parttake in a DVD. Not sure which yet. I get the feeling I'll know it as soon as I see it. I have decided I have too many to pick from is my problem ... and I bought more today. *shameface* I cannot help myself. They are like drugs to me. I purchased the BBC adaption of Tess of the D'urbervilles
(with Gemma Arterton <3), The Queen
(with Michael Sheen <3) and the complete collection of Friends
because let's face it ... who doesn't love Friends?! And it was only £32, I'd have been a fool not to get it.
Sidenote: I add the little hearts next to the actors not because that is the only reason I bought them but in this case these are the films/tv series where I first saw and fell for them. They are both just so wonderful! I seriously couldn't see anyone else as Tess now and I cannot wait for her to play Cathy in Wuthering Heights
even if it does look a bit worrying from the rest of the casting. I am hoping to be proved wrong. I know that Gemma can play that sort of character I just hope Ed can pull it out of the bag. If you have no idea what I am talking about see here
. Originally Michael Fassbender was talked about and I can see how that have worked so much better. Perhaps I just need to see some more Gossip Girl, passed the first episode, to get a better feel for what he's like. After all, at this stage I am pretty biased because I know
how amazing Fassbender is (thanks to Hunger
in particular ... please watch it people) but I don't really have a sense of what Ed's performances are like.
Anyways, off to bed now as I say. I might post you up the full list of my DVDs (as it currently stands) to give you some impression of all the choices I have to make when I just want to watch a film.<3
